Lemon Blossoms in a Vase
A couple of small, blooming branches from the lemon tree, brought inside, and placed in an unglazed stoneware vase that I made last year...

Desert Moon
The moon was bright,
a silver home adrift in seas of black
that brightened to clear blue within her wake.
The slender clouds
passed and repassed, but touched her not.
Their gentle feathers glowed and darkened,
moving the earthbound shadows
endless across the sand -
bright silver sand - whose slow night-glow
made sweet reply to the slow-drifting moon.
And from her height
the moon gazed down upon a silver home
afloat in seas of black.
a silver home adrift in seas of black
that brightened to clear blue within her wake.

Bowl of Yogurt
Simple Yogurt
3 C milk
1/3 C fresh yogurt
Heat milk slowly, stirring occasionally, to approximately 185* F (85* C), then allow to cool till around 115 F (46 C). While heating milk, set out yogurt to take off chill. When milk has cooled sufficiently, stir in yogurt, mixing well. Place in yogurt maker or use preferred method for maintaining temperature for 9 to 11 hours. Refrigerate before serving.
