  2. so lovely, Amy. I always wondered if you grew bougainvillea as I associate it with holidays in sunny climates. (Sorry that I don't manage to visit here very often and well done for running two blogs!)

Oops, sorry I missed your comment so long, Ann - I don't do a perfect job juggling blogs, do I?! ;-) Bougainvillea grows well here, though we have to factor in some probable cold damage as temperatures usually dip a bit below freezing. This one is growing by the side of the house and was already in place when we moved in - one of the only large shrubs on the property. Its ability to take the heat and drought are amazing; I think I've watered it once a month at best this year! I'm getting ready to put a new one in the garden proper... :)
